How To Remove Or Reduce Audio Noise In Audacity?

Audacity is a cross-platform, free, and open-source application for recording and editing digital audio. This application has plenty of use cases, and one of them is noise reduction. You can achieve this effect by following the steps in this post.

Step 1: Open the audio file in Audacity

Step 2: Highlight a small portion of the noise

Step 3: Go to “Effect” and click “Noise Reduction”

Step 4: Click on “Get Noise Profile”

Step 5: Go to “Select” and click “All”

Step 6: Go back to “Effect” and open “Noise Reduction” again

Step 7: Input your desired values in the “Step 2” section

Step 8: Click on “Preview” and if you’re satisfied with the result click “OK”
